What is Dimond Painting?
Let's start with a simple question. What is Diamond painting? Diamond Painting originated in China. It is the craft of putting together a piece of art with plastic diamonds or rhinestones.
It starts with a picture that is put through a computer system, turning into a chart-like color by number that is printed on canvas. The canvas has an adhesive coating which causes the rhinestones to stick.
There is a key on the side of the canvas as well as the same key on the inventory sheet. You use this key to match the symbol on the canvas to the color number on the key.
Next you use the pen included in your kit to press into a wax square (also included). This fills the pen with wax. Then you pour your baggie of diamonds into the provided tray and shake it lightly. This causes the diamonds to be faceted or top side up. The bottom of the diamonds are flat. Next you use the wax filled pen to pick up a diamond and place it on the corresponding symbol that matched the color number on the key.
You repeat this step until your picture is completed. Everything you need to complete your picture is included in the kit.
A good tip is to get a bead organizer so you can do one small square at a time & store the diamonds until you need that color again.
